Wow. That announcement caught SU off guard for sure. He has no head coaching experience. Apparently Nash worked as a consultant to the Golden State Warriors and has a good relationship with Kevin Durant. He is also a former point guard and maybe, just maybe, can connect with Kyrie Irving.
Jason Kidd made the leap and had some short term success with the Nets and the Bucks. Nash gets a 4-year deal and they will keep former head coach Jacques Vaughan as the “lead coach” at a high salary.
Is this a good move for what will be one of the hot teams in the NBA this coming season?
Bad move.
Thunder blew it last night. Too many turnovers and that game set the NBA back about 37 years. How do you not have an in-bounds play for the end of regulation? Well, I guess they did as the Thunder’s in-bound play was taken from a 3rd grade YMCA team. And, why don’t these shooters use the pump fake on a late game 3 rather than trying to jack it up with someone in their face. I always say, if you can have an undrafted rookie take the last shot then you gotta go with that guy over a seasoned veteran who has been in that situation before. I guess the irony of all this is that Harden actually had two key defensive blocks at the end of the game. Afterward it snowed in Orlando. I must say, it was great work by the referees to keep the fourth quarter to lasting just under two hours with indecisiveness at key points in the game and multiple conferences regarding what time they were meeting at the pool tomorrow. At least the last 30 seconds of the game only took 45 minutes.
