Make the Trade

OK, Knick fans, here is something for you.  Today, SU is acting like the back page of the New York Post.  Sit around, make up a story out of nothing and pretend it has legs.

Kyrie Irving is unhappy in Cleveland.  He had bed bugs in Oklahoma City, he keeps getting hurt and the new coach there, Tyronn Lue, does not love him.  Carmelo Anthony is aging and wants his ring.  He is best friends with LeBron.  All the talk has been about moving Kevin Love but why not swap Irving for Carmelo?  They are probably close enough in salary that you can throw in another player (Richard Jefferson?  Make my day) and equalize salaries.  Irving is a great talent.  Paired with Porzingis and you have something there.

No one is talking about it.  You heard it here first.  Thoughts?

  1. They should have kept Wiggins and sent Irving to the Wolves when they had the chance. Not sure why I keep thinking Anthony is going to end up in Atlanta.

    1. Pete, Atlanta is not glamorous enough for Carmelo. Of course, neither is Cleveland but LeBron is there at least. La La Anthony will stay in NY I suspect no matter where he ends up unless it’s in LA.

  2. I would take a rack of basketballs for Melo so I would certainly be happy with an All Star point guard.

  3. What did the Nuggets walk away with when they traded him to the Knicks? 3 starters, a first round pick and two seconds? And that was when he only had a few months left on his contract. I’d settle for half of that.

Yankees health report is not looking good. Gardner is dealing with an injury from the playoff game! I don’t remember anything in that game exciting enough to cause a 5-month injury. And Ellsbury wants a few more days to rest his legs before getting into a spring training game? Not good.
