Line-up Changes?

SU is reading that some possible line-up changes may be in order for tonight’s game:

  1. Donaldson out; move IKF to 3rd base
  2. Stanton back to DH; Oswaldo Cabrera in left field
  3. Oswald Peraza at shortstop

Go younger and more athletic. SU is in favor of all of these moves. Carpenter sits, Donaldson sits (please) and Cabrera back in the lineup. We will see what Aaron Boone actually does. SU notes the comments from today’s earlier post. Btw, LeMahieu is not on the post-season roster for the ALCS, and Hicks is out 6 weeks with a knee injury for those keeping score at home. The moves listed above are the ones available for Boone.

SU says roll the dice and play the youngsters. They are easy to root for and maybe they won’t strike out 3 – 4 times tonight. Let the youth movement begin.

Panic moves? Thoughts?

  1. Agree with all, but i would try give Carpenter some swings perhaps when it doesn’t matter. He just has not had enough time to get used to major league pitching.

  2. Given that Yankees only win with homers and Framber doesn’t give up many, let’s get some yourh, speed and contact hitters in there. And mover Bader into 5 hole

  3. I don’t know if you panic after losing by two to Verlander and Houston’s top relievers. That said, #2 is a no-brainer. This is a largely return to the where things were before the misguided Carpenter decision so it makes good sense. I’d probably skip the other moves but I’m not necessarily against them. I don’t particularly like Donaldson but he’s been a fixture at 3rd all year. They won a lot of games with him there. The defense is pretty great and the offense is what it is. IKF doesn’t feel like an upgrade over him. Which means you’re doing all these moves to get Peraza in there. I love this if it works. But I’m not sure I have enough data to think that it will. It might. We can hope. But it the rationale is less compelling.
