SU just read this story about Julian Edelman’s response to Meyers Leonard who has landed in hot water for saying an anti-Semitic slur while livestreaming his video game (Full disclosure: not sure what that even means or why anyone would want to watch that). Edelman is really not an observant Jew but he has discovered his roots of late and sent an open letter to Leonard offering to meet with him for a Shabbat dinner down in Miami.

In regards of not being an obedient Jew what does that actually mean now+a days. My dad seemed to be more a real Jew while only attending temple 2 days a year along with Passover dinners and lighting the Menorah on all 8 days versus so many Orthodox and Hassids who on the surface pray and observe every some holiday but are dishonest at work, screw the government and ate judgemental of all who ate not like them. I’d rather follow the path of a righteous person than a phony radical.
